The AAFI 2026 conference, proudly held by the New Zealand Association of Fire Investigators, will explore the latest advancements in fire investigation, focusing on best practices grounded in scientific principles and the future potential for growth and innovation in the field.
When: 12 – 14 October 2026
Where: Elms Hotel, Christchurch, New Zealand
Cost: $850 (GST Inclusive)
Conference fee includes:
- Ticket to Welcome Canapés & Drinks
- Conference Pack (including conference polo shirt)
- Daily Morning and Afternoon Teas
- Daily Lunches
- One Conference Dinner Ticket (extra dinner tickets for partners/ significant others can be purchased at $100 NZD - GST Inclusive)
The conference will extend to understanding matters such as the latest advancements in fire investigation, focusing on best practices grounded in scientific principles, and the future potential growth and innovation within the field.

This is a unique opportunity for both NZAFI members, and other person/s in the industry, that is both worthwhile and meaningful.
ACCOMMODATION
In agreeance with the association, Hotel Elms will reserve 80 rooms for the conference dates. These rooms will be reserved till the 30th June 2026, and will strictly be first in, first serve.
The cost of these rooms is $199 NZD (GST Inclusive) per night, for a single or twin share room.
Should you wish to reserve a room, the below form must be filled out, and emailed direct to reservations@hotelelms.co.nz.

Should you wish to arrange your own accommodation, there is a number of motels, apartments and hotels located along Papanui Road, most of which are in walking distance of Hotel Elms.
REGISTRATION FORM
Please note, once the registration form is filled out and received by the association, an invoice for payment will be sent to the email supplied on the registration form. Upon receipt of full payment, a tax receipt will be sent out.
Please note that the Conference Committee reserves the right of admission and the right to refuse entry or request the departure of any individual where deemed necessary (Respect, Ownership, Awareness and Responsibility).
